The latest volume of the limited-edition journal from our partner organization Asif: Culinary Institute of Israel takes stock of the past year in Israel through the lens of food. A photo essay captures how chefs and volunteers sprang into action at the onset of the war to cook for those in need. Chefs, producers, and farmers share how their year has oscillated between despair and hope, and a Palestinian restaurant owner in Ramla expresses his desire to return to life together. There are also stories from families evacuated from their homes who long for their kitchens and recipes that commemorate some of those murdered on October 7th.
