Ingredients
- 3 slices of white bread, crust removed and soaked in water
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small russet potato, peeled and grated
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 6 tablespoons bread crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
Drain the soaked bread and add to a medium mixing bowl. Add in the ground beef, potato, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, salt and pepper. Mix until combined well.
Step 2
Form the mixture into 8 patties, about 3 to 4 inches wide and about ¾ inch thick. Transfer the patties to a plate. Pour the breadcrumbs into a separate shallow bowl.
Step 3
Heat a large skillet with 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Working in batches of 2 to 3 patties at a time, coat the patties in breadcrumbs and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4 minutes on each side.
Step 4
Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel. Serve warm.
