Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ cup angel hair noodles, broken into ½-inch pieces
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups basmati white rice, washed and drained
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Preparation
Step 1
In a medium pot, heat the oil on medium and fry the noodles until lightly browned, stirring constantly to make sure they don’t burn, 4-5 minutes.
Step 2
Add the water and bring to a boil. Add rice and salt, and stir to combine.
Step 3
When the water starts to evaporate (you’ll start seeing little holes), lower the flame to the lowest possible setting, cover, and move the pot to another burner temporarily. Cover the flame with a baking sheet and place the pot atop it (this prevents burning).
Step 4
Cook rice on low for about 15 minutes or until the rice is done. Fluff with a fork and serve.
